In this section you can find all the SIMILAR project resources, which are available both in online and downloadable versions, in six languages (English, Greek, Polish, German, Slovenian, Hungarian).
Handbook: The purpose of this handbook is to provide background material on the new dimensions of migration processes in Europe, intercultural contact, migrants’ learning and migrants’ empowerment for various groups working with migrants: teachers, trainers, counsellors, social workers, volunteers, police and city guards.
Training Material: These Training Materials complement module 2 of the SIMILAR Handbook, which tackles the issue of growing cultural differentiation in Europe. The Module provides both the trainers and the training participants with general information on how culture influences everyday practices and communication. This appendix contains a number of training materials, which can be used to prepare the training participants for cultural contact in various contexts and to raise awareness of cultural differences.
Collection of Best Practices: This document consists of a series of 51 best practices successfully implemented in the SIMILAR project partner countries (Poland, Cyprus, Hungary, Slovenia and Germany). This collection (together with the SIMILAR Handbook, which provides general context and theoretical background) provides useful knowledge to those working closely with migrants.
